A Night of Decadence - The Winter Celebration OOC Dance

A night of New Year's Resolutions, “decadence,” as one aptly described it,

games, and fun. You were all amazing last night!

Arhyia Jewell was our builder for this set. The theme was to do a great, winter OOC dance for all the citizens to enjoy, mixing the beauty of snow and ice with the grandeur of Glorious Ar.

The evening began with the reading of new resolutions, some for the sim, some for individuals, some for their characters. (When I wasn't simply staring at the screen in awe at the gorgeous gowns and handsome tuxedos.)

Yes, even Joscelin was let out of his cage for awhile to enjoy the evening!

Imperial Ar's Resolution #4: LOSE WEIGHT. We're going to do away with bulky prims, laggy scripts, excessive groups, and some rules that have become too complicated. A slimmer, trimmer Ar is in store for 2011.

Imperial Ar's Resolution #3: EXERCISE! That's right... everyone get ready to use your creative muscle. Our success, and even your own satisfaction here in SL is determined by how much you put in. Builders, scripters, texture artists, roleplayers, photographers... our collective culture is going to be crafted by you. Get out and be intentional, volunteer to do something fun, run an event, or even just make some suggestions. Don't just sit in the sim and wait for something to happen. Exercise!

And after 4 hours of so of formality, as most evenings of revelry go, this one followed the same. Again, decadence, fun, and a much needed night of good humor for all.

Resolution #2 for Imperial Ar: STOP SMOKING. What I mean by that is, we're going to all take a step back and hopefully realize that our community is the most important thing. Sometimes we'll have to agree to disagree. But the smoking, flames, drama, and constant (unhealthy type) debating need to make way for something more constructive.

And Resolution #1 for Imperial Ar: SPEND MORE TIME WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY. I want to encourage everyone to find someone you've never roleplayed with in Ar, seek them out, and start a scene. Find a reason. Everyone knows there are cliques here and there. Break them! Look past the intricate details of your own character's story for a moment and highlight someone else. Find an event and come.

Together, we're going to have a great year.

Last night was simply amazing. It left me smiling, contemplative, happy to be around good friends, family, complete with our silliness and all.

I'm looking forward to great things.

After all, we are Ar. It is what we do.
